The reincarnation of the Nike Cortez utilizing flywire technology has seen a resurgence in interest of this iconic sneaker. Nike Sportswear continues to feed the public with new colorways with the release of new Summer colorways – blue/black and white/pink.
So by now every sneaker head, Kanye fan and hypebeast has seen/heard/tasted/smelt/touched/bought their first pair of Air Yeezy. Now comes the interesting part to see who wears it with what and what people are doing with them. Premium Goods have released their Air Yeezy t-shirt (limited of course) to customers. They are only available by raffle and one raffle ticket gets your three chances, one for each colorway. What better way of saying I love Kanye by wearing his shoes your your feet and pictures of the same shoe on your t-shirt.
The Clarks Desert Boot is a classic, much in the same way that the Converse Chuck Taylors are a classic. These sneakers have bypassed culture, movements and social groups to be loved and worn by everyone from punks to hiphop kids. The desert boot is a classic silhouette but a bit of tweaking by Bedwin has ended up in a chunkier looking shoe. With subtle branding on the tongue, Bedwin has preserved the classic nature of this shoe while still maintaining its relevance in todays crazy mixed up sneaker culture.
The NB MT575J Advantage Timber pack features two colorways of the shoe coupled with Bill Jordan’s Advantage Timber camo material. The camo material uses a high definition printing process that produces a 3D like image of the Realtree Hardwoods camo pattern.
Kevin Poon of Clot has previewed the upcoming Silver Series line from Levi’s. The CLOT 505 denim has silver characteristics and the cuff of the leg features CLOT royale silk. The denim has a tentative release date of 10 April in JUICE stores.
Nike Sportswear seem hellbent on making me bankrupt with their constant releasing of my favorite sneakers. The Air Woven has always been a favored sneaker for me both for its comfort and looks. It’s the perfect warm weather sneaker and looks great with shorts or jeans. The colorways released are also timeless with black/turquoise (reminiscent of the Diamond Tiffany Dunks) and white/orange.
A sneaker that sits firmly in my top 10 of the most comfortable sneakers is the Air Footscape. Nike Sportswear’s latest addition to their April roster is the striped version of this classic. Theoretically, I would have said that the design of the upper would not work but the combination of stripes of various weights seem to pull together nicely with the woven sections breaking up the different stripes.
Mita Sneakers’ long running relationship with New Balance has seen many classic drops over the years. The new addition to this rich history of collaboration between the brands is the FRAT MT576S Bamboo Rake. The leather upper is completely glow in the dark and has an intricately embroidered tongue and heel. The expected release date for this sneaker is April 4.
Remember when SB’s came in normal orange Nike boxes before they came in silver and pink. Well, now they have a new box and new kicks to go in the new box. The 2009 April Collection features a Dunk Hi, Blazer Hi, Blazer Low, Classic and Dunk Mid. Just in case you were wondering, the new boxes are now white/blue and remind me of the T19 Dunk Hi’s that came out all the way back in 2005.
Put this down as another sneaker I won’t be able to own. The Air Max 90 CT TZ and Flywire TZ utilizes cutting edge technologies such as flywire and the Current hybrid choice. Hybrid soles and ultralight uppers means that this sneaker does not just look good but is also going to be incredibly comfortable. I was impressed by the Flywire Cortez but the Flywire AM90 just takes things to another level. Cop if you can and get me one too (size 10, size 9 without insole, possibly even 11)!
